Dr Oz Yogalosophy: Downward & Upward Facing Dog: Steve Ross Yoga

Dr. Oz does it every day. Millions of Americans swear by it. Of course, I’m talking about yoga, the workout that if you haven’t tried yet, you probably should. On his show, Dr. Oz explained why he believes yoga changed his life, and introduced viewers to guests who have lost weight and taken control of their health thanks to the popular practice. He also shared a couple of beginner Steve Ross Yoga poses, courtesy of his very own yoga trainer and friend.

Dr. Oz and yoga instructor Steve Ross explained the many benefits of yoga and demonstrated basic poses for beginners.

Dr. Oz relies on yoga, first introduced to him by his wife, Lisa, to “maintain balance, keep focus, and stay healthy.” Eventually, Dr. Oz began working with yoga expert Steve Ross, author of the book Happy Yoga. Now, Dr. Oz believes that yoga is the single most important aspect of his lifestyle. In fact, he loves yoga so much, he wanted to share it with Dr. Oz fans right in his own home.

Five lucky Dr. Oz fans were chosen to try yoga for the first time with Steve Ross and Dr. Oz himself. The women were all impressed by just how much they enjoyed their workouts. Best of all, Steve explained how yoga can affect not just a person’s physical fitness, but also their outlook on life. “The greatest gift I could ever share with anybody is the practice of yoga,” Dr. Oz said.read full

Thyroid Diet - What Foods To Eat And Avoid For Hypothyroidism & Hyperthyroidism

Thyroid Diet - What Foods To Eat And Avoid For Hypothyroidism & Hyperthyroidism

Before proceeding to the thyroid diet, it is important to know and understand the thyroid problem. Thyroid or thyroid gland is basically one of the largest endocrine glands present in the neck below the thyroid cartilage (which forms the “Adam’s apple). It has a butterfly like shape with two wings attached by a middle part (isthmus). This gland controls most of the body’s organ functions such as usage of energy by the body, making proteins and controlling the body’s sensitivity to other hormones. It is involved in the production of thyroid hormones of which, the most important are triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine, also known as tetraiodothyronine (T4) which account for 99% and 1% of thyroid hormones present in the blood respectively. The thyroid gland uses iodine from food sources like seafood, bread and salt to produce thyroid hormones.full read

13 Self Tanning Tips

In high school and a bit into college, I was working as a manager at a local tanning salon. I was tanning daily and it was bliss as far as I was concerned. Until I got a bit older and realized how dumb I was being. Not only was I risking skin cancer but I was also going to age myself quicker than I should have and nobody wants to look like that wrinkly, creepy & leather-ed face tan mom, right? Right. That’s when I decided that I needed self tanning tips that weren’t going to one day kill me or my looks. I went from a tanning bed junkie to a self-tan junkie. I traded one for the other because I’ve never been one to embrace my paleness. I like color. I like to have a bit of a bronze, especially in the summer.

Let’s just say this was NOT an easy task! I’ve been orange, streak, dirty looking and stuck with a tan that made me look like an oompa loompa. That’s fun for no one. I wanted to share some of my best self tanning tips with y’all so that you could get that pretty, sun-kissed, touch of color look that you want for summer without turning crazy looking!full read
